Recently we conducted a short survey over 50 Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central partners. In this survey we delved deeper into the challenges and opportunities that define the collaborative landscape. Let’s take a look at the interesting results of our short questionnaire.
Customization or standardization?
With the first question we tried to get a better understanding of how our partners are looking at customization within Business Central. The majority of them try to stay close to standard Business Central functionalities. They add extra functionalities through the implementation of standardized apps. These are found on the AppSource. A small part of the partners still prefer customization, as this allows them to tackle very customer specific requirements.
Which challenges keep Business Central partners up at night?
As a Business Central partners you’re probably wondering if your colleagues are struggling with the same challenges. We identified four challenges and asked our partners to rank these. It is not a big surprise, but ‘the War on talent’ finished on top followed by a capacity shortage of their teams.
Why do Business Central partners cooperate with ISV’s?
The majority of Business Central partners prefer a cooperation with Independent Software Vendors that create user-friendly, innovative and feature-rich apps for both consultants and key-users. It is clear that quality is key for Business Central partners. Pricing, support and roadmap participation are of lesser importance.
A quick look into the future of ISV’s
The market is rapidly changing, but how do our Business Central Partners look at the future importance of independent software vendors. Because most partners are moving from customization to standardization, the majority of the partners believe that ISV’s, and their standardized solutions, will become more important in the future.
